History of Inverclyde Cricket Club Scotts C.C. were formed in 1954 as part of Scotts Shipbuilding social club and took part in all local leagues and cups. With the ending of these competitions, Scotts joined the Glasgow league in 1977. Following the demise of Scotts Shipbuilding in 1987 the decision was taken to change the club's name to Inverclyde C.C. The committee also agreed that to support the long term existence of the club, it would be advisable to initiate a junior section, and we now have junior teams in place, taking part in the junior Glasgow league. In the early days the clubs home ground was the Battery Park, Greenock but with the redevelopment of this facility, the club moved to their present location at Gourock Park, George Road. Inverclyde Cricket Club has two senior sides: Inverclyde, and the "Inverclyde Comets." The Comets will compete in the Western District Evening League, Evening Cup and Sunday friendly matches.
